1Cor 9:19-19. For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
20. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21. To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

The ministry, Freedom 1, is composed of married duet, Eddie and Mary Day. What STYLE music do they do? What do you need? They love variety, just like God does!

 Eddie & Mary change their presentation according to where they are and what is needed to get the message across to the people. "We love all styles of music", Eddie says, Country to Rock & Roll and all points in between!" 

At a young age Eddie was playing lead guitar in bands opening shows for stars like, Hank Williams Jr., Marty Stuart, Leroy Vandyke, The Capitols, Ronnie McDowell, Johnny Paycheck, Jeanie Pruitt, Johnny Rodriguez, Freddie Hart and many others. They recorded their own single in Nashville and traveled across the U.S. promoting their release on radio & the club circuit. Eddie says they were a Country Rock band, but they had the talent & versatility to play 'different styles' of music to broaden their work area in the night club circuit. As the band separated several years later...Eddie pursued his songwriting career and was invited and performed many times at "The Bluebird Cafe" in Nashville where talent scouts and record producers have discovered many new up and coming stars. 

He pursued his dream for many years spending thousands of dollars on demo's and trips to Music City. After many years of hurts, failed relationships and frustration, the drugs, alcohol and wild lifestyle caught up with him. Eddie began looking for a way out of the pit he had dug himself into.

Eddie knows God knew how much trouble he was in & sent an angel one night to help him.
Mary Bolen was raised with her family in church as a young girl but had gradually strayed away from her upbringing. They met one night and soon developed a relationship. They fell in love and were married in 1981. Mary also came from a very talented family who had sharpened their talents growing up singing in her fathers church. Their relationship seemed destined to fail as Mary shared Eddie with the 'musicians life' of wild parties and wild friends. Mary realized they were growing farther and farther apart and finally talked Eddie into visiting her fathers church.

One night in that little church, Eddie says the Lord spoke to him and asked for not only his heart, but for the thing he loved even more than his family...his music and dreams of stardom! Out of desperation Eddie gave in that night and God begin to remold his life, reshape his talents and his marriage. Though the words changed in the songs, the influence of the driving Country/Rock & Blues style music is evident today in Eddie's songs.

Eddie shares his experiences & testimony through songs he has written.. Eddie & Mary have recorded 16 cd's of original songs & now own and operate their own recording studio, "Freedom Recording"  just a few miles out of Princeton WV.

Eddies song 'Gods Country' crossed over to the secular country charts climbing to #75 on Cashbox & #10 on the Inde Bullet charts. 

Eddie & Mary have also been heard all over the U.S. and Europe with a cut off of their CD 'Solid as a Rock.' "God don't need nobody to hold His hand" went to #40 over sea's & #42 here in the U.S. They began receiving air mail and e-mail from places as far away as Australia and the Netherlands. Many artists including The Cook Brothers, Cheryl Lynn, Steve Warren, and many more have recorded Eddie's songs. Debbie White took Eddie's song 'Practice what you Preach' to #1 on CCRB and many other Gospel Charts.

“My reason for emailing you is to tell you a story about these two wonderful people Mary & Eddie Day that you have on your website.
My family pushed me away for 7 years and wouldn't even speak to me during that time. The holy spirit kept speaking to me telling me to get back with them and make amends. So I prayed and asked God to give the answer to "How". He told me to make a tape of all the songs I sing, of me singing them and give it to them. So I did.

    I had 1 year and 6mths with them before I lost my daddy. He died August 9 2003. I thought my world was crumbling. My mom's health wasn't great and after daddy's death she started going down. Well 9 mths later May 20th of 2004 I found my mom dead in her bedroom. (My world did crumble then) I was really having a horrible time. When Mary and Eddie found this out a week later they made a special trip to Lugoff SC to come and give my family a concert in my mother's memory. I cannot tell you how much they helped me, and how much it meant to me that they would do something so thoughtful for me. They are two of the most God loving, caring, people I know. 

      I had only met them in person once before (my husband Joe knew them prior) and they came specially to do this for me. You have made an awesome choice in Mary & Eddie. Through their music alone so many people will be reached for the kingdom of God. Thank you so much for giving them this opportunity to spread the Gospel throughout the world.
